“ I've been to this location twice already and each time was very good. We did the AYCE which is super worth it. Their rolls are regular size and doesn't lack flavor like other AYCE sushi places around. I love all the different options you can have with food. You can order hot food, soup, salad, onigiri, sashimi, and giant rolls. The rolls have funny names too! The inside is very nice as well. There is a cute sakura wall by the entrance. The offer lots of seating and the sushi bar is big. The service was as better than okay. The servers both times weren't very interactive or overly friendly. I didn't mind. “ I wanted to update my review from 7 years ago to reaffirm the 5 star rating. I've continued to go to Sushi Junai 2 for all you can eat sushi consistently (probably more than 50 times) and I will continue to be a repeat customer. The service staff are always friendly, the sushi is always fresh and delicious (and filling), and there is rarely a long wait if you go early enough. I also love the riceless options, such as the cucumber passion and strip salmon. The nigiri is also surprisingly good and I'm shocked that this place has stayed in business and has not done large price increases. For a frame of reference, I tend to primarily eat at "high end" sushi restaurants and eat a lot of sushi. In the last 12-18 months or so, I have been to Craft Omakase (1x), Sushi Bar ATX (2x), Otoko (1x), Uchiko (3-4x), Tare (1x), Soto (+10x), and other similar sushi restaurants. I'm not an expert but have a good understanding as a customer of the different grades, types, treatments, and seasonality of fish that are available in sushi restaurants. I can taste and experience the difference between these restaurants and Sushi Junai 2 and totally get that there are certain fish and cuts that Sushi Junai 2 can't realistically offer. But Sushi Junai 2 really satisfies that "I just want to indulge in sushi" feeling like the others can't (without going broke). When I want to get my fill of enjoyable, quality sushi, Sushi Junai 2 is my spot and I highly recommend it. ”

“ I've never been to an AYCE sushi restaurant, let alone had much more than HEB sushi, so I was blown away by this first experience. I wasn't familiar with the different types of sushi so the waiter informed me on what was what and I tried a little bit of everything. I absolutely loved the salmon nigiri and the salmon tempuras (huge salmon fan if you couldn't tell), but just about everything we tried was fresh and incredibly delicious. We will for sure be back! ”
